This week was a very exciting one. It started with reception’s show, “The Three Billy Goats Gruff.” What a joy it was to see our children performing with such confidence. They sang and danced and even played musical instruments. They spoke clearly and every now and then added an element of humour. It really was spectacular show. Thank you to all our families who came to support the children and to all staff involved. Great team work paid off once again!
This term, Year 5 have been working on the topic of dissolving in order to enter a competition. This is a piece of work being carried out by nineteen primary schools in Enfield who all belong to the Enfield Town School Partnership. This partnership is an alliance of richly diverse schools who aim to improve pupils’ educational experiences and make their school journeys much more rewarding. The Head of Schools for Enfield and the Lead Assistant Head from Lavender Primary School came to judge the children’s learning. Five groups of children were chosen as the overall winners. The standards were extremely high and every group met the necessary criteria, many exceeded this. It was an honour to watch the children present their work with articulation, illustrating their understanding of dissolving by using subject specific vocabulary. Though only five groups won, I feel that every entry was a winner! Well done children!
The week ended last night when our Year 4 pupils presented an anthology of poetry to a theatre full of families. Once again, working with The Enfield Town Schools Partnership, our nineteen schools created poems around the theme of Global Citizenship called ‘All About Change’. The children performed brilliantly. Thank you to all who made this evening such a success. The children’s work will now be published for all of us to purchase soon. We will keep you all updated!
