District Sports

This week the children took part in our borough’s district sports athletics event. Mr Blackman, Mrs Colocassis and Miss Hardy have all been working with the children during after school clubs, lessons and lunch time clubs to fit in additional training sessions. They certainly paid off. We had many first place winners, nine in total! We are extremely proud of all our pupils who took part and thank our wonderful teachers for their efforts too! I would like to mention the praise our children received from other schools taking part in the event. They said our children’s spirits were high throughout and they supported each other and cheered each other throughout the day. True community spirit! Well done children. This is why you rock!

Eastfield’s Community Day

Thank you to all who came to our community event on Friday. The event was suggested by our pupils in honour of Jo Cox, the MP who was killed in an attack two years ago, 17th June 2016. Her great community work and her memory live with us all at Eastfield Primary School.

In her Maiden speech she said, “We are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us.” These words resonate in all of us. We are a united community at our school; one that embraces diversity, one that stands up for fairness and equality for all.
