It has been a chilly week with piercing winds and yet only a slight sprinkle of snow.
Thank you to our maths team: Mr Warwick, Mr Statham, Miss Judd and Mrs Gambuti for launching the new #EPSmathschallenge. Each week a new maths challenge will be posted on the board. All pupils from EYFS – Y6 are welcome to take the challenge. The winners will be announced weekly! Both pupils and staff are extremely excited.
Dutch Headteachers Visit Eastfield
Last week a group of 11 Headteachers came to spend a day at our school. The main purpose of the visit was to see how we use digital technologies to enhance and deepen learning at our school. Currently we are a 3:1 ipad school. This means that for every 3 pupils we provide an ipad to support learning. Digital technologies have had a significant impact on learning at Easfield and it was wonderful to show our guests how great learning is at our school. After a brief welcome from Mr Statham, our guests toured the entire school. This is what they said:
I was able to join in part of the morning and am grateful to Eastfield staff for their hospitality and organisation. Their pupils and staff were fantastic ambassadors for demonstrating high quality education in an inner city school. The Dutch visitors were as ever very interested and engaged, eager to discuss ideas and generous with their praise and feedback. I look forward to participating again next year, whilst in the meantime we aim to advance our ICT inspired by what we learn from Eastfield.
Time to visit my Dutch colleagues?
We are extremely proud of our pupils and staff. It is always wonderful to show off the super learning that goes on every day at our school. Thank you Mr Chris Theodoulou for organising such an amazing day!
Thank You Josef
We would like to thank Josef for kindly donating two very large black bags full of books for pupils at our school. We are all extremely grateful for your overwhelming generosity!
Have a great weekend and keep warm….brrrrr!
