Gangs- Making The Right Choices Workshop
At Eastfield, in partnership with the Enfield Police, we are very aware that young people and their parents have concerns about the dangers of weapons and gangs in Enfield. In response to this The Police, The London Ambulance Service, Youth Engagement Panel (YEP) and LBE School Improvement Service worked together to create the programme “Gangs – Making the Right choices” designed to educate, guide and equip our young people to avoid dangers and to reduce the risk of being caught up in violent crime/gangs. With this in mind on Monday we ran the workshop for our Year 6 pupils.
The topics that were covered were:
- Weapons and the Law
- Injury
- Consequences
- Loss
- Impact on aspirations
- Prison
I cannot begin to emphasis how important it is to educate our children of the dangers and negative temptations that may come their way. It is our duty to keep our children safe. Thank you for your continued support.
The Chinese New Year
Mr Heard has been working with the Year 1 team to surprise us all. Year 1 beautifully led The Chinese New Year Assembly this week. Here the children told the story of The Great Race through song and music. It was a very special treat for us all. Thank you Year 1, we think you rock!
The Jungle Book
Ths week it was Reception, Year 1 and 2’s turn to have a cinema night. The children thoroughly enjoyed the film. All proceeds will go towards the theatre production f The Jungle Book, in May. Thank you again for supporting the school to enable our pupils to have such wonderful experiences.
Don’t forget to try the #EPSmathschallenge this weekend!
