The end is near…

The end is near…

Over the past couple of weeks we have conducted transition in a very different way. Last week, pupils spent every afternoon in their new classes with their new teachers. This provided our children with many opportunities to fully understand the standards and expectations of the year ahead and take part in numerous activities to assist with the whole transition process. This week this has not ceased. Within their current classes, pupils have started their new exercise books for next year already. I have walked around the school and noticed wonderful writing and challenging problem solving activities too. Well-done children! We are all extremely proud of you and know that next year, you will continue to excel and grow as individuals and as a part of our family.

Community Day

Our PSA Joan organised a community day out to Brighton. This was an opportunity for past and current families, as well as staff, to enjoy a day at the seaside! As always it was a huge success! Photos can be seen on our Twitter page.

Excursions

Reception had a great time at Paradise Wildlife Park. They saw a variety of animals. They even saw life sized moving gigantic dinosaurs! Roar!

Year 4’s Come Learn With Me Maths Event

Year 4 opened their doors to invite parents and carers in to take part in maths learning. Thank you to all the parents who have popped into the office to thank us for providing this learning opportunity.

London Games: Panathlon 2018

We are extremely proud of our pupils who took part in London’s Panathlon event this week. We came fourth out of 21 schools.

Oliver

Years 5 and 6 performed beautifully this week. Our pupils recited their lines with articulation and clarity; sang the songs harmoniously; danced with elegance; played musical instruments with confidence and filled the hall with pride! The show coincided with the release of our Key Stage 2 SATs results. Our greatest results to date! I cannot begin to express how privileged I am to be the headteacher of such a brilliant school.

The show brought back many dear friends, previous staff of our school: Mrs Parkhouse, Mrs Claydon, Mrs Findlay and Miss Bissette. They all thoroughly enjoyed the show too!

Sports Days

This week both Reception and Key stage 2 held their Sports Days. Well done to all who took part and to our ever competitive parents too, who definitely gave it their all!

Thank you to al the members of our community for once again working together to benefit our children. Have a smashing weekend.
