The Pupil Voice

Yet another busy week! On Monday, members of the school council led the assembly to introduce ‘Headteacher for the Day’. Here our pupils shared their fundraising idea which surprisingly received a great deal of interest from the children! Our pupils can purchase a ticket for 50p to enter a draw to sit at my desk and run the school for the day on Wednesday 3rd July. The draw will take place on Monday 1 st July. In preparation for the big day, Mr Statham has designed some rather unusual posters to advertise the day!

Junior Citizens

To prepare Year 6 for their transition to Secondary School, they attended a Junior Citizens Programme at the Nightingale Academy today. Junior Citizens offers children the opportunity to take part in an event to raise awareness of Health and Safety in and out of the home as well as helping the children consider how to become good citizens.

The Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade and many other organisations provide a range of workshop scenarios including how to behave on public transport, the ‘Hazard House’, dialling 999 in an emergency, first aid skills, respecting the environment and road safety.

Robotics Workshop

Miss Goodfellow, our Science Co-ordinator, has been bust arranging a variety of hands- on opportunities for our children. Yesterday, Year 5 took part in a Science Robotics Workshop at Prince of Wales School. Here children had a great time building and challenging each other by being engineers for the day! Thank you Miss Goodfellow for all your hard work and dedication to our children. Your passion for science has certainly rubbed off on the whole school!

Joan’s Coffee Shop and Ice-Cream Parlour

I would like to end by thanking you all for dropping into our Friday Coffee Morning. Here parents and staff can get together and enjoy a cuppa and a chat. Joan is always at hand if you require any help with anything! From last week, every Friday afternoon Joan is now selling ice creams to help us fundraise in these financially challenging times. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Joan for running the parlour and our Community, for always supporting us.
